Built-in support is shaped into the backrest, so it sits where the maker decided the average back curves. Adjustable support moves, so it can be set where your own back actually curves. For a chair one person uses all day, adjustable is worth the difference; for shared seating, built-in is often enough.

It supports the inward curve of the lower back, which is the part that collapses when people slump. That removes one common cause of discomfort. It is not a treatment for an existing back condition, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Nine of the 20 products here are made to order rather than stocked, and those take 10 to 15 working days. The product page says which, and shows the date it will arrive by before you pay.

Each product carries the manufacturer's warranty and the period is stated on that product's page, often broken down by part: the structure for one length of time, the mechanism and the fabric for another. If something fails inside the warranty, report it from your order page and we deal with the manufacturer for you.

Thirteen of the 20 products in this selection have a 3D model on the page rather than only photographs. The viewer spins the actual model, and changing a colour or a size on the page changes the model with it, which is worth doing before committing a whole room to a finish.

On stocked items, yes: tell us within 14 days of receiving them and raise it from your order page, with the goods unused and back in their packaging. Nine of the 20 products here are made to order, though, and those cannot be cancelled once acknowledged or returned because you have changed your mind.
