The privacy booth answers open plan's most obvious flaw: nowhere to take a call. High acoustic backs and sides wrap around the seat and absorb most of what is said inside, so a conversation stays roughly where it started. Open booths seat one for focused work, or face two benches across a small table for a meeting nobody had to book.

What is an office pod?

Are they soundproof?
No, and be wary of anyone who says theirs are. These are acoustic rather than soundproof: upholstered panels absorb speech so a conversation does not carry across the floor and the person inside is not fighting the room. For genuine confidentiality you need a door and a ceiling, which is a building job.
How much space do I need?
Measure the footprint on the specification tab and then add room to get in and out. These are large pieces, from 95.5cm wide upwards, and the depth catches people out more than the width. Check the route from the lorry to the spot as well, because a pod that will not go round a corner is an expensive problem.
Do you offer installation?
Yes, and it is the sensible choice here. Installation on these is priced per item on the page, and the crew deliver, build and position the pod and take the packaging away. These are not a one-person flat-pack job.
Can we get power inside?
Several of the booths with tables take a power and data module as an option on the product page. Picking it at order time means the cut-out is made at the factory rather than drilled on site.
How long does delivery take?
Most of this category is made to order, so allow 10 to 15 working days. Delivery itself is still free. A few lines are stocked and move faster, and every product page shows the date it will arrive by before you pay.
Does it come assembled?
Most of it arrives flat-packed, with the instructions and fittings in the box. If you would rather not build it, pre-assembled delivery and installation are offered on much of the range and priced per item on the product page.
What warranty does it come with?
Each product carries the manufacturer's warranty and the period is stated on that product's page, often broken down by part: the structure for one length of time, the mechanism and the fabric for another. If something fails inside the warranty, report it from your order page and we deal with the manufacturer for you.
Can I see it in 3D?
Three of the 6 products in this category have a 3D model on the page rather than only photographs. The viewer spins the actual model, and changing a colour or a size on the page changes the model with it, which is worth doing before committing a whole room to a finish.
Can I change my mind after ordering?
On stocked items, yes: tell us within 14 days of receiving them and raise it from your order page, with the goods unused and back in their packaging. Most of this range is made to order, though, and made-to-order goods cannot be cancelled once acknowledged or returned because you have changed your mind. Each product page says which it is before you buy.
