Office Chair Parts & Accessories
Office chair parts and spares - gas lifts, castors, bases, arms and headrests that turn a wobbly chair back into a working one.
Chairs rarely fail all at once; they fail a castor at a time. This category holds the spare office chair parts and upgrades - gas lifts, castor sets, five-star bases, replacement arms and add-on headrests - that put a good chair back into service for a fraction of the cost of replacing it.
There is an upgrade angle too: swapping carpet castors for hard-floor ones, or adding a headrest to a chair that turned out to need one. Thriftier than a new chair, greener too, and quietly satisfying to fit.
Frequently asked questions
What can I replace rather than throw away?
Castors, gas lifts, arm pads, headrests, bases and seat pads, plus add-ons like lumbar supports and footrests. 29 lines from £3. A chair with a failed gas lift is not a dead chair, and replacing one is cheaper than replacing twenty chairs.
Will a part fit my chair?
Some parts are near-universal: gas lifts and castors use standard fittings on most office chairs, and the specification tab gives the sizes. Arm pads, headrests and bases are usually cut for one range, and the page names it. If you are unsure, photograph the part and the underside of the chair and send it over.
Which castors do I need for a hard floor?
Soft-wheeled castors. The hard nylon wheels fitted as standard are made for carpet and will mark wood, vinyl and polished concrete. Swapping them is a two-minute job with no tools: the old ones pull out and the new ones push in.
Does fitting a part void the warranty?
Replacing a consumable like a castor does not. Replacing a structural or mechanical part on a chair still under warranty is worth a call first, because if the part failed inside the warranty period we should be getting you a replacement rather than selling you one.
How long does delivery take?
Standard delivery is free on everything, and most of it lands inside a week. Express delivery is offered on much of the range, priced per item on the product page, and gets an order to you within two working days if you place it before 5pm. Nothing here is made to order, so the lead times are the standard ones.
Do you offer installation?
Yes, on six of the 29 products here. The crew deliver it, build it, put it where you want it and take the packaging away. It starts at £17.95 an item and the exact price is on each product page. Installs usually happen within about 10 working days, and the team agree the day with you rather than simply turning up.
Does it come assembled?
Most of it arrives flat-packed, with the instructions and fittings in the box. If you would rather not build it, pre-assembled delivery and installation are offered on much of the range and priced per item on the product page.
What warranty does it come with?
Each product carries the manufacturer's warranty and the period is stated on that product's page, often broken down by part: the structure for one length of time, the mechanism and the fabric for another. If something fails inside the warranty, report it from your order page and we deal with the manufacturer for you.
Can I see it in 3D?
One of the 29 products in this category have a 3D model on the page rather than only photographs. The viewer spins the actual model, and changing a colour or a size on the page changes the model with it, which is worth doing before committing a whole room to a finish.
Can you quote for a whole office?
Yes. For twenty items or more, or anything with a complication like a mezzanine or a lift that argues back, we plan the job and give you one quote covering the goods, delivery and installation. Ring 0208 138 0512 or email [email protected] with a rough list or a floor plan.
