Frequently asked questions

How many drawers do I need?

Two drawers fits under most desks and holds a working set of files. Three is the usual freestanding size. Four holds a department's paperwork and needs a wall to stand against, because a loaded four-drawer cabinet with the top drawer out is top-heavy.

Will it take foolscap or A4?

The cabinets here take foolscap suspension files, which is the standard for office filing and also accommodates A4 inside the file. Check the drawer internal measurements on the specification tab if you are using anything unusual.

Do they lock?

Most of them, and the keys come with it. If you are filing anything with personal data in it, that matters for more than tidiness. Keep the spare key somewhere other than the office.

Steel or wood finish?

Steel is the traditional filing cabinet: tougher and usually cheaper. A wood-effect cabinet matches desking and reads as furniture, which is worth something in a room people are shown into. Both are here and both take the same files.

How long does delivery take?

Standard delivery is free on everything, and most of it lands inside a week. Express delivery is offered on much of the range, priced per item on the product page, and gets an order to you within two working days if you place it before 5pm. One of the 4 products here are made to order rather than stocked, and those take 10 to 15 working days. The product page says which, and shows the date it will arrive by before you pay.

Do you offer installation?

Yes, on everything here. The crew deliver it, build it, put it where you want it and take the packaging away. It starts at £25.95 an item and the exact price is on each product page. Installs usually happen within about 10 working days, and the team agree the day with you rather than simply turning up.

Does it come assembled?

A good deal of it arrives ready to use rather than flat-packed, which is common on steel products. Where something does need building, the instructions and fittings are in the box, and pre-assembled delivery or installation can be picked at checkout instead.

What warranty does it come with?

Guarantees across this category run to 5 years, depending on the product and the part, and the figure is on every product page. Structure, mechanism, electrics, and fabric and foam are often covered for different lengths of time. If something fails inside the warranty, report it from your order page and we deal with the manufacturer for you.

Can I see it in 3D?

Three of the 4 products in this category have a 3D model on the page rather than only photographs. The viewer spins the actual model, and changing a colour or a size on the page changes the model with it, which is worth doing before committing a whole room to a finish.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

On stocked items, yes: tell us within 14 days of receiving them and raise it from your order page, with the goods unused and back in their packaging. One of the 4 products here are made to order, though, and those cannot be cancelled once acknowledged or returned because you have changed your mind. Each product page says which it is before you buy.

Can you quote for a whole office?

Yes. For twenty items or more, or anything with a complication like a mezzanine or a lift that argues back, we plan the job and give you one quote covering the goods, delivery and installation. Ring 0208 138 0512 or email [email protected] with a rough list or a floor plan.
