The Dakota's padded luxury styling is more than surface deep. Contrast stitching traces the upholstery panels for a tailored, modern look, the backrest carries lumbar shaping so your lower back is supported rather than merely leaned on, and the 53cm wide seat is finished with a waterfall front that eases pressure behind the knees. The leather-look upholstery is soft to the touch and wipes clean, which matters more than it sounds after a year of Mondays.

An auto-tilting action that behaves

The lock and tilt action reclines with you when unlocked and holds the backrest firmly upright when you want to sit forward and work. Tension adjustment to the tilt matches the recline resistance to the person in the seat, and the gas lift moves the seat through a generous 47cm to 57cm range, taller than most executive chairs manage. The five star base rolls on twin wheel castors, so the whole chair moves as smoothly as it reclines.

    Smart chair, firm seat

    Looks the part behind a desk and the leather look finish has not creased. Seat is firmer than I expected which suits me but my colleague found it hard going. Try before you buy if you can.
