## Description

Acoustic desktop desk divider screen that adds privacy and takes the edge off open-plan noise. A 40cm high, 20mm thick fabric-upholstered panel with a pinnable surface, easy to fit to the desk in four widths from 120cm to 180cm, upholstered in a choice of 22 colours including the Quest and Rivet collections.

#### Privacy without putting up walls

A desktop screen is the lightest-touch way to divide an open office: no partitions, no building work, just a 40cm high panel that rises above the desk to give each person a defined patch of their own. It is tall enough to stop the eye-line distractions of a busy floor while keeping the office feeling open, and the full fabric upholstery doubles as a pinboard for notes, plans and the office social calendar.

#### Acoustic by design

The panel is built from polyester fibre board upholstered in fabric, a combination chosen for its acoustic qualities. Rather than reflecting sound back across the office the way bare desks and hard surfaces do, it absorbs ambient noise at exactly the height where conversation happens, taking the reverberation out of an open space one desk at a time.

#### Sized and coloured to suit

Four widths, 120cm, 140cm, 160cm and 180cm, mean the screen can run the full width of the desk it sits on. Upholstery comes in 22 colours: stock Black and Grey, and bespoke weaves from the Bergamot Cherry and Ginseng Chilli end of the palette through to the full Quest and Rivet collections, so screens can match the company colours or zone departments by shade.

#### Right for your business

The Air desktop screen suits anyone taming an open-plan office: banks of desks that need a little separation, hot-desking floors, call teams who need the noise level down a notch. One clear price, full specifications on the page, and no sales calls required.

Screen and acoustics

- **40cm high, 20mm thick panel.** Enough height to create privacy at seated eye level without boxing the office in.
- **Polyester fibre board core with full fabric upholstery.** Absorbs ambient sound instead of reflecting it, reducing reverberation across open spaces.
- **Pinnable surface.** The whole face works as a pinboard, so notes and plans live at the desk rather than on it.

Fitting

- **Easy to fit to the desktop.** Goes on without fuss, turning an ordinary desk into a screened workstation.
- **Slim 2cm overall depth.** Adds privacy and acoustic control without stealing any desk space.

Sizes and colours

- **Four widths: 120cm, 140cm, 160cm and 180cm.** Match the screen to the desk it sits on for a neat, full-width fit.
- **22 upholstery colours.** Stock Black and Grey plus bespoke weaves including the Quest and Rivet collections, so screens can follow your colour scheme.

## Questions and answers

#### What sizes does it come in?

There are four widths (120cm, 140cm, 160cm and 180cm). Every one is 2cm deep and 40cm high.

#### Which fabric colours can I choose?

There are 22: Black, Bergamot Cherry, Ginseng Chilli, Maringa Teal, Myrrh Green, Quest Crab, Quest Kelp, Quest Limpet, Quest Mussel, Quest Salt, and 12 more. The swatch beside each name on the product page is a photograph of the actual cloth, so what you see is what arrives.

#### Does it actually cut noise?

It absorbs noise rather than blocking it, so speech carries less far and the room stops ringing. No screen makes an office silent. What it does is cut the reflections that make open-plan tiring by three in the afternoon.

#### What is it made of?

Fabric and polyester fibre board. The panel thickness is 20mm.

#### How heavy is it?

Between 3kg and 4.5kg, depending on the size you pick.

#### What sort of office is it meant for?

We file it under Co-working & Startup, Air Sit-Stand Desks, Acoustic & Privacy and Hot Desking & Agile Working, which is the honest summary of where it earns its keep. If yours is none of those, the specification above will tell you more than the category will.

#### Does it come assembled?

It arrives flat-packed as standard, with the instructions and fittings in the box. If you would rather not build it, installation is £25.95 an item at checkout, and the crew build it and put it where it is going.

#### How long does delivery take?

Standard delivery is free and usually lands inside a week. If you are in a hurry, express is £8.95 an item and gets it to you within two working days when you order before 5pm. Some of the options on this page are made to order rather than stocked, and those take 10 to 15 working days. The date it will arrive by is on the page and again at checkout before you pay, counted in working days with weekends and bank holidays already taken out.

#### What warranty does it come with?

Three years or ten years from the manufacturer, depending on which version you pick. If something fails inside the warranty, report it from your order page and we deal with the manufacturer for you.

#### Can I change my mind after ordering?

This one is made to order in the options you choose, so it is built for you and cannot be resold. That means no cancellation once we have acknowledged the order, and no return simply because you have changed your mind. Take a moment over the options before you check out. If it arrives damaged or faulty that is a different matter and your rights are untouched: report it from your order page with photographs and we will put it right.

#### What does a desk screen actually do?

Three things, in descending order of how much people notice: it takes the edge off noise, it gives a sightline break so you are not staring at a colleague all day, and on the fabric-faced ones it gives you somewhere to pin things.

#### What is the difference between a desktop screen and a floor-standing one?

A desktop screen clamps to the back or side of a desk and rises above the desktop, which is enough for face-to-face banks. A floor-standing divider stands on its own feet and can carve a room into zones or hide a walkway. Back-to-back screens sit in the middle of a bench run and serve both sides at once.

#### How do I pick the size?

Match the width to the desk it is going on, so a 140cm desk takes a 140cm screen. Height is the judgement call: taller gives more privacy and more noise absorption, shorter keeps the room feeling open. Widths here run from 4cm to 180cm.

#### Can I match the fabric to the chairs?

Often, yes. There are 35 upholstery colours across the screens here, and several of them are the same contract cloths our chairs are upholstered in, so a screen and a chair can be ordered in the same colourway.

#### Do you offer installation?

Yes, on seventeen of the 18 products here. The crew deliver it, build it, put it where you want it and take the packaging away. It starts at £25.95 an item and the exact price is on each product page. Installs usually happen within about 10 working days, and the team agree the day with you rather than simply turning up.

#### Can I see it in 3D?

Eight of the 18 products in this category have a 3D model on the page rather than only photographs. The viewer spins the actual model, and changing a colour or a size on the page changes the model with it, which is worth doing before committing a whole room to a finish.

#### Can you quote for a whole office?

Yes. For twenty items or more, or anything with a complication like a mezzanine or a lift that argues back, we plan the job and give you one quote covering the goods, delivery and installation. Ring 0208 138 0512 or email hi@deskwell.co.uk with a rough list or a floor plan.

#### What counts as an office accessory?

The things that make the furniture work rather than the furniture itself: cable management, desk screens, monitor arms, power and data modules, whiteboards, chair mats and acoustic panels. 66 of them, from £5.

#### Will these fit the desks I already have?

Some will and some will not, and the product page says which. Universal items like monitor arms, chair mats and freestanding screens go with anything. Cable trays, cartridges and brackets are often cut for one range, so the page names the range they belong to. If you are matching to something you already own, measure it and check against the specification tab rather than going by the photograph.

#### What is worth ordering at the same time as the furniture?

Cable management and screens. Both get fitted or positioned while the desks are being built, so ordering them together means one visit instead of two and one set of holes rather than a compromise later. Power modules are the same: the cut-out has to be made before the top is packed.

#### What actually tidies an open-plan office?

Cable management first, because trailing leads are what make a floor look neglected and are the thing people trip on. Desk screens second, for the noise and the sightlines. Acoustic panels after that, if the room still rings.

#### Do I have to be a business to buy from you?

Yes. Checkout asks you to confirm that you are buying for your business, trade or profession rather than as a consumer, and it asks for a company name. That is why prices are shown without VAT and why the terms read the way they do. Sole traders and home-based businesses count, and so does an employer buying a desk for somebody working from home.

#### Do your prices include VAT?

No. Every price on the site is shown excluding VAT, because most of our customers reclaim it. VAT is added at checkout and the total you actually pay is on screen before you confirm anything. A VAT invoice follows once the order is complete. Our VAT number is GB 525 3667 81.

#### How do I pay?

Payment is due in full when you order, and the methods available to you are shown at checkout. If you pay by bank transfer, your order is not accepted and the lead time does not start until cleared funds reach our account, so it is worth sending it the same day.

#### Can I pay on account, or on 30 day terms?

No. We take payment before the order goes to the supplier, so there is no credit account to open and no application to fill in. It keeps our prices where they are, and it means nothing is waiting on a credit check while you are waiting for furniture.

#### Can I put a purchase order number on the order?

Yes. There is a Purchase Order Number box at checkout, and what you type there carries through to the paperwork so your accounts team can match it up.

#### Do I need an account to order?

No, you can check out as a guest. You will still be able to see the order afterwards: go to Track Order, give the order number and the delivery postcode, and you get the same order page an account holder sees, with the same buttons for returns, cancellations and damage reports. Making an account simply saves typing the address again next time.

#### How much is delivery?

Standard delivery is free on everything, whatever the size of the order. The paid options are upgrades on top of that: express, pre-assembled and installation, each priced per item and shown on the product page before you add anything to the basket. Where an option is not shown on a product, it is not available for that product.

#### Do you deliver everywhere in the UK?

We deliver across mainland UK. A number of postcodes sit outside the standard service: Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight and the Isles of Scilly. We can usually still get furniture to those places, but it has to be quoted rather than booked from the site, so ring 0208 138 0512 or email hi@deskwell.co.uk before you order.

#### Will the delivery crew bring it inside?

Standard delivery is to the door, flat-packed. If you want it carried in and built, choose pre-assembled delivery or installation on the product page. Whichever you pick, the crew ring roughly 30 to 60 minutes before they arrive, so you are not waiting by the window all morning.

#### Can I change my delivery date?

Yes, but not on the day. Our courier partner Furdeco plan their routes in advance, so the three hour slot cannot be moved once the van is out. To rebook for another day, ring Furdeco on 0121 285 5255 with your tracking number and pick a time that suits you. Larger deliveries and installations get a call from our logistics team first anyway, so the day is agreed with you rather than sprung on you.

#### Can I tell the driver how to find us?

Yes, and it is worth doing. There is a box on the delivery step at checkout, 500 characters, for anything the crew needs to know: where a lorry can park, which floor you are on and whether there is a lift, loading bay hours, a gate code, a one-way system the satnav has never heard of, and who to ask for. It travels with the order rather than sitting in a note at our end. It cannot be edited once the order is placed, so if something changes, ring 0208 138 0512 with your order number.

#### What happens if I miss the delivery?

The courier team will contact you to arrange another date, or you can ring Furdeco on 0121 285 5255 with your tracking number and rebook it yourself. Worth avoiding if you can: a failed delivery costs from £10 an item, plus storage if the order has to go back to a warehouse. A gate code in the delivery instructions box costs nothing.

#### Can you take the old furniture away?

Yes, we run a removal and recycling service, quoted per job. It has to be booked before delivery day, because the crew can only take away what they have been booked and equipped to take. Tell us what is going when you order and the swap happens in one visit rather than two.

#### Can I return something?

Tell us within 14 days of receiving it and we will look at it. Go to your order page, either signed in or through Track Order with the order number and delivery postcode, and raise the return there. The goods have to be unused and back in their original boxes, or packed well enough to survive the journey. If you send them back yourself there is no handling charge at all and carriage is at your cost. If you would rather we collected, we may charge up to £35 an item, and we tell you the figure before we collect. Anything you paid for on top, like express delivery or installation, is not refunded, because those services were already carried out.

#### Can I cancel an order?

Ask as soon as you can, from your order page. Before anything is dispatched we can often cancel it, though where costs have already been incurred with the supplier we may deduct those before refunding the balance. Once something has been dispatched it becomes a return rather than a cancellation. Made-to-order items cannot be cancelled at all once we have acknowledged them.

#### Something arrived damaged. What do I do?

Tell the delivery crew at the door. They note it down and photograph it, and that record is what settles the claim with the carrier later. If you turn the delivery away because of the damage, the crew take the goods with them and we arrange a replacement. If you only spot it after they have gone, open your order, press Report a problem and send photographs, up to six on one report. Do it within five days: carriers stop entertaining a claim once a delivery is more than a few days old. A damage report is counted separately from a return, so a breakage does not use up your 14 days.

#### How do I track my order?

A confirmation email lands as soon as you order, and the moment it is on its way you get a dispatch email with a full tracking link. You can also go to Track Order at any time with your order number and the delivery postcode. Your order number starts with DW.

#### Is everything on the site actually in stock?

Anything out of stock is hidden from the listings, so if you can see it and add it to a basket, we can get it. The exception is made-to-order items, which are not held in stock by design: they are built for you after you order, and their pages say so.

#### How do I get hold of a person?

Ring 0208 138 0512, email hi@deskwell.co.uk, or use the live chat on the site. If it is about an existing order, have the order number to hand and it will be quicker.
